ONCE UPON A PLACE is the story of 'La Nacional' a nondescript building in New York City that welcomed thousands of immigrants to the United States over its 150 - year story.

Its striking story is the story of the ebb and tide of Spanish immigration to this country; of the rise and fall of New York City as home to the American Dream, and the tale of hundreds of lives touched by the possibilityof a new life. Yet that story of immigrants to America, so relevant today, remains a mystery to most New Yorkers and Americans.

Founded in 1868, "La Nacional" still stands in 2020, the last remaining survivor of the vanished New York neighborhood once known as Little Spain, the largest Spanish immigrant enclave in the United States. "La Nacional" bore witness to the golden age of Little Spain and the tumultuous times that eventually ended in the disappearance of the entire community.

This is its story. And the building itself is going to tell us.

Special Guest: Famous Spanish-American artist Domingo Zapata, who was painted the largest Times Square (NYC) mural of all times.

"Todo Parecía Perfecto" es una sorprendente película de amor con tintes fantásticos y surrealistas. Un onírico y melancólico romance que tanto en tono como espíritu, evoca el "Olvídate de mí" de Michel Gondry. Un hombre sueña que vive una historia de amor con una mujer que no conoce. En el sueño la pierde, y al despertar decide reproducir en la realidad el momento en el que la conoció tal y como ocurría en su sueño, como si así pudiera convocar a su amada y todo pudiera volver a empezar. El sueño del hombre se cumple, pero las cosas se tuercen cuando intenta materializar los sueños de ella, con la voluntad de verla feliz, de una manera un poco torpe que acabará poniendo en peligro todo por lo que ha luchado.

Paula acaba de perder a su madre y tendrá que aprender a lidiar con los fantasmas que habitan en su cabeza. Pero cuando decide visitar la casa de la fallecida, empezará poco a poco a sumergirse en la misma oscuridad y confusión que también padeció su madre.

Alejo Levis (Todo parecía perfecto) dirige y escribe este drama, con las actuaciones de María Ribera, Carla Torres, Aida Oset y Montse Ribas. La película se proyectó durante la 20ª edición del Festival de Cine de Málaga, donde inauguró la sección Zonazine.
